About our client:

a global ratings agency for the Voluntary Carbon Market, distributing ratings via SaaS Product, informing all market participants on how to price and manage risk. Their ratings and research tools support buyers, intermediaries, investors and carbon project developers.

Founded in April 2020, now a 170+ strong team combines climatic and earth sciences, sell-side financial research, earth observation, machine learning, data and technology, engineering, and public policy expertise from four continents.

Having raised a significant Series B funding round in late 2022, they are rapidly growing as a company, accelerating the Net-Zero transition through ratings.

Job Description:

Hiring an exceptional candidate to join the carbon credit ratings team. The ideal candidate would have an academic background in environmental and/or natural sciences.

Be a driven, creative and intellectually curious individual excited by the prospect of working at an innovative start-up aiming to rethink the frameworks within which credits from such projects as assessed for quality.

The role will be focused on researching the science and evidence behind different types of projects, and continuing to build the database of evidence and ratings and content stream for
the sector. The successful candidate will be expected to drive analytical development, research and develop sector & sub-sector expertise to lead analysis of carbon projects. It will also require interacting with both internal and external stakeholders and consequently, strong written, presentational, and oral communication skills are essential. The ideal candidate will bring a depth of knowledge in offset projects and the ability to create effective messaging for a diverse audience.

Responsibilities:

  • Research offset projects in the voluntary carbon market
  • Expanding and developing our ratings and analytical models for the sector
  • Curating our literature database
  • Writing research reports on market trends and dynamics
  • Attending conferences and events representing
  • Working towards monthly targets through delivery of ratings, reviews and content
  • Potential management of rating scientists, depending on experience
